Colorado Aquatics Foundation
Our Mission
Colorado Aquatics Foundation was founded to advance water safety and drowning prevention, expand aquatic access, strengthen aquatic sports, and develop the facilities Colorado communities need.
South Metro Denver lacks sufficient aquatic capacity, particularly facilities providing a configurable 50-meter pool alongside a dedicated warm-water instructional pool for year-round swim instruction, water-safety education, aquatic fitness, rehabilitation and therapy, and community programming.

Zebulon Regional Sports Complex • ~135-Acre Campus
Douglas County selected Colorado Aquatics Foundation as its aquatics development partner. CAF will independently develop, fund and operate the Colorado Aquatic Center on County-owned property under a planned long-term recreational lease.

The Colorado Aquatic Center is planned alongside ice, court sports, fitness and other recreation within the larger Zebulon building.

A Piece of Swimming History
The 2012 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha marked a defining moment for Colorado’s Missy Franklin, who qualified for her first Olympic Games before winning four gold medals in London.
The Colorado Aquatics Foundation is negotiating the acquisition of the 50-meter Myrtha warm-up pool used at those Trials, with the opportunity to give this historic pool a new home at the Colorado Aquatic Center.

The footage shows the Trials competition pool. The pool the Colorado Aquatics Foundation is negotiating is the separate 50-meter warm-up pool from the same Trials.

Recovery Operations HQ less than 10 minutes away
State personnel training is developed nearby, creating an opportunity for multi-day aquatic recovery-operations clinics serving personnel from across Colorado.

South Metro Fire Rescue
Dive-Rescue & Deep-Water Training
Design consultation focused on dive-rescue training, deep-water access and operational requirements.
Agency input is informing the design
This input is helping inform features including a 12-foot deep-water area, direct exterior access, deck water connections, equipment support and classroom capability.
CAC must advance through design and structural steel during Zebulon’s active development window.
